Frequently asked questions
What do I receive?
For digital pieces, you’ll receive one image file (PNG, 300 PPI) with your artwork, sized to print at whatever size you prefer (typically 8”x8” or 8”x10”). For patterns, you’ll receive one JPG image file with your pattern, sized to the hoop you’ll be working with (6” unless otherwise requested). For an additional $10, you have the option of also receiving your pattern pre-printed on stick-and-stitch pattern paper.
What is a “stick-and-stitch” pattern?
This is a pattern printed on water soluble pattern paper. To use, peel off the wax paper backing and stick directly to the fabric you’d like to embroider. Stitch away, and when you’re all done, soak your piece in warm water. The pattern paper will melt away, leaving behind your design!
How do I order?
Digital portraits and patterns are not subject to my commission status, meaning you can request a digital portrait or pattern at any time! All you have to do is send me an email to get started. Typically, I can turn around your piece within a week.
Where/how can I print my artwork?
There are a number of companies that will print and even frame your art for you! I’ve had good experiences with Finer Works.
How do you create the art?
All the pieces are made on my iPad using Procreate and an Apple pencil. Black and white portraits are drawn to look like a traditional pencil drawing, while color pencils are done in the style of pastels.
